Cats and babies are definitely a cute combination. It’s enough of all the old wives’ tales when it comes to cats smothering babies to death or stealing their breath. Any baby should be supervised when an animal is close, mainly because of the lack of mobility babies have, that can lead to an accident. But there is nothing true about that malice cats have according to those ridiculous myths.

Last week we told you about Pitocha, the 8-year old white cat that has been guarding his baby sister since before she was born. And he did the same with the first pregnancy. Attached to the pregnant belly and then attached to the new born baby. The protective instinct takes in and it’s nothing but amazing.
But Pitocha is not the only guardian cat that proves how loving babysitters cats can be. You are about to see adorable pictures of cats guarding their human siblings and being nothing but protective, warm, cuddly and sweet. In some cases, you will see that even before the baby was born.
If you have a pregnant friend thinking of abandoning her cat because she is afraid of what the cat will do to the baby, just show her these pictures and tell her there is nothing to worry about. Cats and babies can work perfectly fine together and cats are also family and we do not get rid of family.

Imagine if any of these women would have gotten rid of the family cat. Who will be these babies’ guardians? Their best friends?
You will see the 2-and-a-half-year-old tuxedo cat named Panda and her brother Sean Ivory. This is another case of before birth bonding. Her human, Liel Ainmar Assayag, said Panda even hugged her belly to sleep. And now she does the same thing to the baby.
And then there is Dexter, another pregnancy bonding case that continued when his baby sister came into the world. Apparently he doesn’t leave her side, watches her sleep and keeps her warm.
And finally there is Toco who arrived more or less at the same time to his family than his human sister. They grew up together and the bond they share is more like a complicity between brother and sister around the same age. That baby is not a baby anymore. Now she is a little girl who still enjoys the company of her cat. And it’s too cute to see them growing together.
So don’t worry about old wives’ tales. These pictures are going to prove them wrong.
