While recovering from injuries sustained in a fire last year, Russell, the orange kitty, has learned a thing or two about compassion.
Russell has been a patient at the Animal Emergency Hospital and Urgent Care Clinic in Raleigh, North Carolina since 2014 when a fire at his house left him badly burnt. Although his road to recovery has been long, he has really taken a liking to his current home and the other animals that frequent it. Having grown accustomed to receiving constant care, Russell has taken it upon himself to return the favour to the other animals in need.
This incredible feline can be frequently seen comforting all of the other recovering animals that pass by the clinic. Russell doesn’t shy away from any friend in need, whether cat, dog, deer or some other furry friend, he does not discriminate.
The people who work at the clinic say that Russell loves being around the other animals and has a strange knack for being able to detect who is in need of his comforting. Due to Russell’s injuries he may never be able to return to his former life but the clinic says he will never be short of love, even if he has to stay with them for the rest of his life.
