Most cats love sleeping during the day. They will find cozy and soft places to take a nap, they will go under a bush or they will find the hottest spot where the sun is shining. Some drinking, eating or hunting may occur between daytime sleeping. But mainly, they are saving energy for what comes next: the night.
That’s the moment they become more active, they seem to enjoy it alone or in groups, and they always seem so awake when the sun is gone.
Whether it is exploring their town, hunting, stalking, observing the moon, sharing a hot spot on a roof, waiting for the sun to return, or simply warming up during winter with the ground-lights of the streets, the night belongs to cats.
An American proverb says that “after dark, all cats are leopards” and maybe it’s true.
