SHANGHAI — When things get a little rough in life, it’s important to be able to depend on a friend for support. So when one tiny pup was rescued by Buddhist nuns, he immediately took solace in another stray pup that had also been adopted by the temple. Now a series of heartwarming photos released online show just how sweet the two pups are with each other.
In a few of the photos, the larger pup can be seen holding the smaller one from behind. In these shots, it appears as though the older pup is comforting the smaller one as he wraps his front paws around him. In another series of shots the dogs can be seen sitting on their hind legs, as if they are in a meditative position. One online user commented, saying “The dogs are in the temple now, so they must sit in mediation the same way the nuns do.”
While these two puppies were initially tossed out onto the street, at least they found a loving place to call home. Other dogs in China are not so lucky and frequently end up living life as a stray or are sold for meat in the underground dog meat trade. To learn more about the underground dog meat trade read here.
