It’s not everyday that you see a dog like this, let alone a litter of puppies. They are known as African Paint Dogs or African Wild Dogs. They are nearly extinct as there are only 3000 left in the wild.
They are the size of medium dogs and hunt in packs. Port Lympne Reserve, near Ashford, is where the dogs are being housed. There are about 43 dogs split into 5 packs.
The program is encouraging the breeding of the dogs to help ensure the dogs do not go extinct.
