Service dogs are making great strides within all communities. Originally they have been used to help with physical disabilities such as blindness and deafness. More recently service dogs have been used experimentally with sexual assault victims suffering from PTSD.
Although the price tag for service dogs is upwards of $20,000, experts are hopeful that this evidence will receive further investigation and more sexual abuse victims will be able to reap the benefits of a furry, forever-devoted friend there to support them in their journey to recovery.
