NORTH REGINA, Saskatchewan — Home improvement company Lowes, introduced their latest addition to the team last Tuesday to a warm reception. The company has recently hired a man with a brain injury, along with his support dog and posted a welcome image of them on their social media. Both the man and the dog were given matching vests for their new jobs.
The man named Owen, who had previously struggled with finding employment due to his injury, was welcomed into the company with open arms. Owen and his service dog Blue, have been hired as customer service representatives to greet guests as they enter the store, which has recently opened. Customers will also be allowed to pet Blue with Owen’s permission.
A spokesperson for Lowes, revealed just how excited they are to have the pair join them by saying, “We’re really proud to have Owen there and his dog.” Since posting an image of the dynamic duo online, the photo has since been shared almost 20, 000 times and has received over 48, 000 likes.
