Some people have big hearts and other people seem to have no heart at all. Joey, a one year old pointer mix, was tied to a pole with a note asking for a new home, but no one came for Joey. Scared and shaking, a lady in the park tried to help Joey.
Even though she was homeless and handicapped, she walked with her cane with Joey 3 miles to the animal shelter. The temperatures dipped into the 40’s and at one point they had to take cover from rain, but the lady knew that Joey deserved better than being left at a park.
Joey is now in a holding period and will be up for adoption at Harbor Animal Care Center while they trace his microchip. The lady who made sure he got to safety, lives in a van with her three rescue cats and is wishing Joey the best in his new life.
