Sometimes I greet them at the door with a ball, and it’s like they aren’t even excited that I have a ball. That’s when the hunger starts.
There’s hope for dogs like Binky.
It’s little things that have helped. I extend my leg higher when I pee. I circle more than I did before. The high-cardio low-carb diet I’m on has helped. Learning there are dogs in the world who are actually starving really put things into perspective for me.
My family were eating pizza the other night, they didn’t even give me a crust. I felt down but then I remembered I’m not actually starving or even hungry.
Binky has lost the extra pounds and the Roland family is paying more attention to him, but that’s not to say Binky doesn’t have his dark moments: he’s just choosing to realize that he doesn’t need food every second of the day.
