Jed the Lurcher may have been Britain’s least wanted dog but his luck has changed.
Jed has spent seven years (approximately 49 dog years) at a dog shelter, specifically with the really nice people at the Dogs Trust Centre in Darlington. An estimated 17,000 adopters passed him over for other dogs through the course of his stay there. If anyone has gotten used to being rejected, it was Jed.
Jed was purchased as a puppy but taken to the shelter when he was just 4 months old. Growing up an orphan isn’t easy but he’s made a go at a new life, in his very home!
A couple saw MailOnline put a plea up for Jed. They adopted him and now Jed is living the good life, away from the noise of a shelter and constant rejection.
If we can learn anything from Jed it’s that some really great dogs get passed over in shelters. Not all dogs find homes, many shelters would not hold on to a dog for as long as Dogs Trust did. Check out your local animal shelter today and ask which dog has been there the longest – who knows, you just might change a life!
