KENYA — In a mock demonstration, a trained Belgian Malinois shows off her incredible guard dog skills as she reacts to a knife attack directed at her owner. The dog was trained by Arkadi Shulman from Israel to become a personal protection dog and she is certainly living up to the expectations with her impressive skills. In the video the dog can be seen sitting with her owner, when the man sitting beside them suddenly yields a knife. The stranger directs the knife at the dogs owner, when she wards off the attack at lightning speeds.
The video was intended to demonstrate just how well trained the dog is and how she has perfected differentiating between threatening body language and non-threatening body language. At the start of the video when the stranger, wearing a ‘dog-proof’ suit, sits down calmly, the dog pays little attention to him. Yet, as soon as he draws a knife the dog reacts in the blink of an eye. Then when her owner commands her to release the man, she sits under her owners legs once more.
The video continues to play as the man draws the knife one more time and again the dog lunges at him to ensure that her owner is safe. Beligian Malinois are frequently used as police dogs, due to their very obedient nature but they can be a handful to have as a pet. This particular dog has been trained as an anti-terroritst dog and her impressive skill set certainly confirms that the training was effective. Watch the video below.
