If Adele’s visit to a cat cafe can help more cats get adopted, then this news is definitely worth telling.
Catfe is B.C’s only cat café and it is housed in the International Village Mall in Vancouver. It opened in December and they have already facilitated 156 adoptions. They are so successful that you need a reservation to get in because they only accept 16 people at a time not to get the cats stressed out. Unless you are Adele of course.
It was Tuesday night when Adele stopped by, the day before one of the two concerts she had planned in the city. The Catfe was crowded, not only because of a birthday party, but because some possible adopters were spending time with the cats. But when Adele showed up with her 3-year old son and asked to come in briefly, the staff was more than happy to welcome her.
She spent there just few minutes but she managed to make Larry the cat famous, after giving him her attention. Larry has been adopted since –and not just because he’s famous, he was spoken for since before Adele stopped by– and he’s enjoying his new home.
“Catfe is a cat lover’s dream: a cafe serving cat-themed treats and a shop filled with crafty meowchandise all in the company of feline friends (…) part cafe, part foster home for cats, and a community gathering space for cat lovers of Vancouver in need of some quality kitty time”
All the residents come from BC SPCA and they are all available for adoption. Next time you’re in Vancouver check them out. This is the link to their website, this one to their Facebook page and this one to their Twitter account. Let us know what do you think!
For now, check the video that got released the day after Adele visited the Catfe. It was filmed right there.
