WARREN, N.J. — When Katie Frame and her mother saved a blind dog named Bear, they didn’t realize that he would soon return the favour. The Pit Bull went blind after he was hit by a car that took off and left him on the street to die. Fortunately, a bystander saw the whole thing and called the hospital to pick the helpless pup up. Yet, soon after the dog was admitted to the hospital, things took a turn for the worse when his owner abandoned him because of the costs associated with his injuries.
Things were looking grim for Bear. That is, until Katie Frame’s mother who worked at the hospital, saw the dogs plight and decided to bring him home. Katie and her mother, welcomed Bear with open arms and the young woman reveals that he has given her life a whole new purpose now. Katie reveals, “Before he came into my life, I was so worried that I was wasting my life. I felt like time was moving faster than I was. But now I feel like I have purpose. He has significantly improved my life.”
Bear gives Katie a reason to smile and get up in the morning and she could not be more grateful for their friendship. Today bear spends plenty of time showering his new owners with unconditional love and receives just as much love in return. So you see, as much as these rescue dogs need us, sometimes we need them just as much.
