SpaghettiO has to be one of the most adorable one-eyed cats out there. Her fluffiness, the way she sticks her tongue out, her captivating curious eye and her sparkly personality are all part of the package of what makes her so dam cute.
She wasn’t born like that. It was an accident what changed her life and the way she looks. When she was 8 weeks old, she tried to climb the back of a dinning chair and pulled it over herself. You know, a regular accident many cats have at least once in their curious life.
However, for SpaghettiO it turned out to be a pretty serious accident that left her paralyzed and eventually without one eye.

At the beginning, the doctors were not even sure if she would ever recover her mobility, they knew it was only a matter of time to see how would her body react. The swelling of her brain permanently damaged her eye and it needed to be removed after few weeks. As for the rest, it was a long recovery process but a very successful one.
SpaghettiO needed to learn how to walk, eat and use the bathroom all over again. For weeks she was syringe fed and carried to the litter box. Her human, Megan, points out how tenacious and determined she was until she made a remarkable recovery.
“She could lift her head, she could move her front paw, she could drag herself across the bed, she could stand, and, finally, she could walk (…) I credit SpaghettiO’s recovery fully to her tenacity and spunk. She has a remarkable zest for life that I believe singularly allowed her recover from a very near-death injury.”
Megan even adapted her home so SpaghettiO could find it easier to move around. She installed for example, shelves and perches arranged close together so she can get from one to another with just a tiny hop.
“…a hilarious girl —she is spunky and adventurous, confident and sassy (…) She always wants to know what you’re up to and comes right up to investigate. She can turn anything into a game or a toy, and is a tremendous foodie. Truly, she’s never met a food she didn’t like.”
This adorable cat is now 8 years old and she has proven there’s not much she can’t do. An accident turned her life around and transformed her into that amazing little creature she is now.
