Second Chance Rescue in New York has been helping animals since 2009 and has seen some pretty horrible cases of neglect. When Kimmy first came to them from the South, they weren’t sure she was going to make it. She was horribly emaciated and barely a year old. Kimmy was so thin that she was barely able to walk, but this amazing group showered her with love and comfort, and within a week they began to see improvements.

Fast forward to the present and Kimmy has now gained over 15 pounds and is doing great! She has left the hospital in great spirits and you can tell just from the look on her face how much love has transformed her.
All Kimmy needs now is a forever home. The rescue states that she has a strength to admire and despite everything she has been through, Kimmy holds no grudges. She loves both humans and dogs and can’t wait to share that love with a family. She would do best in a household and not boarding. If you think you or someone you know may be able to foster or adopt Kimmy, please fill out their application here: Adoption/Foster Form.
We’re hoping she won’t have to wait too long.
