CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. – Meet the Hugues family – Chris and Mariesa and their seven rescue senior dogs. They all live in the same house and they all sleep in the same bed. It doesn’t matter how many dog beds there are around the house, there’s no bed like the one in which the humans sleep to cuddle up at night.
To make the situation more comfortable, they recently made some special sleeping arrangements to cover up everyone’s needs. They pushed two beds together and they got in touch with a carpenter to make a custom frame, which will hopefully be ready soon.
All of their dogs come from different backgrounds and all of them were rescued from some sort of abuse. Now they are safe, happy and keeping each other warm at night.

The family used to be bigger but two dogs died in the past two years. One of them, Mr. Mo, inspired Chris and Mariesa to start a project to rescue senior dogs and since 2014, they have been doing that all across the US. It is called Mr Mo Project.
This is truly a great project and they are supporting it exclusively with donations. Senior dogs are often neglected or abandoned by their owners when they cannot afford to pay for their medical bills. Mr Mo’s project believes senior dogs should spend their rest of their lives in a loving home.
For that, they either offer to pay for the veterinary expenses of senior dogs for the rest of their lives so the owners don’t abandon them, or they rescue senior dogs from shelters and find them a home. They also pay for those dogs’ expenses and the transportation to wherever is the new home. According to News 10, Mr Mo currently pays the vet bills of 75 dogs in 18 states and last year they spent over $164,000 on the bills.
You should definitely check out this project because it’s amazing. You can either visit their website or check out their Facebook page. Here you can contact them if you want to donate for their cause, or if you know of a senior dog that needs their help.
You can also check out Chris and Mariesa’s dog house Facebook page. Maybe soon we’ll see the finished bed and the happy family enjoying it.
