BELLEVUE, Wash. — When Jeff Love happened upon Lucky’s picture in his social media newsfeed, he was shocked to read that this 1-year-old Golden Retriever cross was facing euthanasia. Love just couldn’t look away and carry on with his day, he knew he had to do something. He says,
“When that post came in, they said by the end of the day this dog is dying, so if we didn’t make action happen that same day the dog was gone.”
Lucky was in a Phoenix shelter and the clock was ticking. Working with Dudes With Dogs, Love hatched a rescue plan that involved people from four states. They managed to secure a foster home in L.A. for Lucky, but the next hurdle was figuring out how to get him there. Pilots N Paws offered to fly Lucky from Phoenix.
Lucky made it safely to L.A., and is going to be featured at an adoption event Saturday. Love says, “I just want him to find a home with people who love him as much as all of us do.”
