Seeing people work together to rescue an animal in peril is a truly remarkable thing; it’s the very definition of teamwork. Within both these clips you will see people come together to form human chains to save dogs trapped in fast moving waters.
The first, in the City of Almaty in Kazakhstan. A dog has become trapped in the Sayran Reservoir. A man quickly rushes in to save it. He’s seen comforting the frightened pup, earning its faith and trust. He manages to bring the dog to the reservoir wall. Those that have formed the chain quickly realize that this rescue was trickier and riskier than they first thought.
Though they refuse to give up. More people flock to help as they realize the chain has to be longer in order to save this dog. The canine waits patiently at the base of the wall while they figure out the mechanics required to rescue it. In the end, ultimate success. The dog is saved and cheers for these heroes are heard all around!
The second clip comes to us from Trujillo Peru. This dog was certainly at risk to drown. When he’s observed by a group of police officers, one of the officers removes his uniform and heavy gear, and enters the water to save him. His fellow officers form a human chain in preparation to pull them both to safety.
Once the officer has rescued the pooch and brought it to the wall of the canal, they work quickly to get these four paws on dry land. Despite the drama, once saved, this dog appears calm, cool and collected. In fact the first order of duty is to shake off some of that excess water from its fur!
