GOTHENBURG, Sweden — Swedish dogs can now really feel a part of the family, as the restaurant group Avenyfamiljen, has included a special doggy menu at their multiple locations. The menu will be offered this summer and features a choice between a cod or a beef dish for furry friends. They have also included a special canine beer that is made from beef stock so that the family dog can really fit in with its human squad.

Avenyfamiljen, is just the latest restaurant group to include a special menu for dogs, as the trend has being increasing in popularity over the last couple of years. As more and more restaurants worldwide are allowing canines to enter their venue, the restaurant owners are trying to think of innovative ways to have customers come back for more. Avenyfamiljen’s boss Tobias Hamberg, acknowledges that ‘Food service is a very competitive market – we always need to find a new ways to make competitive offers for our customers.
In regards to the experience for dogs, Hamberg reveals “‘Most dogs prefer the beef, and they usually take their meals on the floor near to the feet of their owners.’ Each meal is bought from the Swedish luxury pet food company Wonderboo and costs around 50 SEK (£4.20) for the customer.
