Adoption stories are always wonderful, especially the extremely happy ones. Some of them have the power of lighten up your day and make you smile beyond words. But that’s just because smiles are highly contagious and these ones are completely irresistible!
In very simple terms, it’s just another rescue/adoption story but one picture made it viral in one day and because of that, it transformed into a very rich one. It’s a story that is spreading a huge positive vibe among the world, one that promotes adoption, one that speaks about the wonderful job some rescuers do and one that shows how easy it is to change a dog’s whole world.
Dan Tillery –a Detroit based musician– and his girlfriend Megan Rose Long wanted a dog for a long time but the place where they were renting, didn’t allow dogs. So, the moment the finally bought a house, the first thing they did was looking for the perfect pooch. And thanks to Dan’s friends, who tagged him in a Facebook picture posted by Detroit Dog Rescue, they did.
This gorgeous dog was a former stray that ended up in Detroit’s city shelter until Kristina Millman-Rinaldi, the executive director of Detroit Dog Rescue, saved him next to a dozen other dogs in March. Hers is the ONLY no-kill shelter in the city so any dog they take with them, is safe until they find a home. She says this dog was so happy when he arrived to the Rescue that he immediately started wiggling and so he was named Sir Wiggleton.
For 100 days he was overlooked until Dan Tillery and his girlfriend came looking for him and that’s how Sir Wiggleton found his forever home 3 days ago. Their house is on a lake and Sir Wiggleton, now renamed Diggy, is a water fan.
For now, Diggy is still settling home and he’s doing great. You just need to see the pictures to tell he’s as happy as it gets. Every picture shows him smiling; it’s like he knows this is his home and he feels all the love his new family has for him. The only thing he still finds strange is the sound of Dan’s guitar playing, but Dan is patient. He says:
“He’s definitely going to be my partner in crime with music. I want him to have the best life ever, and I think he’s off to a great start”
This story has an incredible happy ending and the best part is this is only the beginning. We can’t wait to see the life Diggy will have. I’m sure it’s going to be full of smiles.
If you want to follow Diggy, he already has his Facebook page, although you can also follow Dan on Facebook here or here and listen to his music. Maybe soon we’ll hear a song about his new partner in crime.
And don’t forget about Detroit Dog Rescue, this story is possible because of them so you may want to check them out and maybe even donate so they can keep up the great work and make possible happy stories like this one.
For now, just check out these pictures and try not to smile. I bet you can’t.
